To our volunteers, who put in thousands of hours – thank you. This event is 100% volunteer-run, and every smile, cleanup crew, security shift, and info tent helper made RibFest what it is.

Why We Do This – United for Good
Harbourside RibFest isn’t just about food and fun.
​
It’s a community fundraiser organized by Rotary Halifax Harbour, part of a global network of 1.4 million friends, neighbours, and leaders. We are problem solvers, opportunity creators, community builders, and changemakers.
​
We volunteer our skills, time, and resources to tackle real issues – locally and globally.
​
In just the past year, your support has helped us:
Provide food support, school supplies, and one-on-one tutoring at Joe Howe Elementary
​Celebrate diversity and inclusion in the Halifax Pride Parade
Send a local student abroad and welcome an international student into our community through Rotary Youth Exchange
Support the Aninga Project, helping educate and empower girls in East Africa
Build a community greenhouse and lead neighbourhood cleanups
Deliver 100 holiday food hampers over the holidays, supporting over 400 people
Partner with Rogers to donate pajamas to moms in need
​Write and deliver hundreds of holiday cards to seniors
Raise money to help end polio, a signature Rotary initiative
Work with other clubs on a micro-flush toilet project in Ghana
Fund disaster relief through ShelterBox, providing shelter and aid to families around the world
And this is only a small glimpse. Many Rotarians quietly do even more behind the scenes every week – all in service of our mission to create lasting change in our community and beyond.
