About

Joe Murphy has been a stalwart of the East Coast blues scene for four decades, making his indelible mark alongside icons like Dutch Mason, with whom he played on the classic album "Half Ain't Been Told." A master of both harmonica and guitar, Joe has contributed his talents to Garrett Mason's Juno Award-winning album "I’m Just A Man," and has shared the stage with virtually every major blues act visiting the East over the past thirty years.

His band, the Water Street Blues Band, has served as the backing band for blues legends including Otis Rush, Johnnie Johnson, Johnny Sansone, Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne, and the late great Pinetop Perkins. Among Joe’s career highlights are his performances playing harmonica for three nights with John Lee Hooker and a memorable week with Sunnyland Slim. Join us at Harbourside RibFest to experience the powerful and soul-stirring performances of Joe Murphy and the Water Street Blues Band, where the history of blues comes alive with every note.
